Faiyum: lakes, desert viewpoints and Whale Valley
The Faiyum route combines Wadi El Rayan, Magic Lake, desert viewpoints and sandboarding, followed by a camp. Its second day is dedicated to Wadi El Hitan and the return to Cairo. The published inclusions cover private road and 4×4 transport, one camping night, a guide, entrance tickets, bottled water, lunch, dinner and breakfast. Lunch on day two is specifically excluded.
White Desert: a transfer through Bahariya
The White Desert programme travels from Cairo or Giza to Bahariya, where the itinerary changes to a 4×4. Stops described include the Black Desert, Crystal Mountain, Agabat Valley and the White Desert formations. The next morning brings sunrise, breakfast and the return via Bahariya.
This route explicitly lists a tent, mattress, sleeping bag and blankets, a desert driver and guide, protected-area and camping fees, water, day-one lunch and dinner and day-two breakfast. Confirm any other meals or optional activities separately.
Questions about camp comfort
Ask both operators for the exact sleeping arrangement, tent occupancy, toilet and washing facilities, luggage allowance and charging options. Do not assume the Faiyum camp has the same equipment as the White Desert programme just because both include an overnight stay. Share dietary needs and ask how meals and drinking water are arranged.
Prepare for road and off-road travel
Confirm hotel pickup, the vehicle change, identification requirements and the likely return time before arranging an onward flight. Discuss individual access needs and comfort with off-road driving in advance. Bring appropriate layers, sun protection and footwear for the expected conditions.
Keep the landscape intact
